Designing an oak frame for your Oxfordshire property

Begin with the materials and proportions of your property. A porch beside a brick and flint house needs a different balance from a pavilion in a contemporary garden or a carport beside a stone outbuilding. Consider the overall roof height, post positions and relationship with existing paths before deciding on decorative details.

Oak frame kits for your project

We combine traditional oak framing with CNC machining to supply components prepared for accurate on-site assembly.  We work closely with your local landscaper, builder or contractor to deliver a high quality oak frame for your property.

From your enquiry to your oak frame

Start by sending some approximate dimensions and any other information you may have. We discuss the requirements and your prefreed design.  Once the design information and order details are confirmed, the frame is prepared for manufacture. Delivery arrangements are agreed around the address, access and unloading requirements.

Planning your oak frame

Planning an oak frame in Oxfordshire

The permission required depends on the property, position, size and intended use of the structure. Some household projects may fall within permitted development, but all relevant conditions and site restrictions must be checked. Porches and detached outbuildings have different guidance. Planning permission and building regulations are separate matters; confirm both with the appropriate authority or adviser.

Depending on the site, relevant landscape guidance may include the Chilterns, North Wessex Downs or Cotswolds. Check the actual designation boundary and your local planning authority. For work beside a historic house, establish the building status and any consent requirements before changing its entrance or adding a new structure.

The permission required depends on the property, position, size and intended use.

Questions about oak frames in Oxfordshire

Do you work with Oxfordshire builders and landscapers?

Yes. We supply oak frame kits for trade projects as well as private homes. Share your drawings, required frame type and intended programme, and we can discuss the supply scope and information needed for manufacture.

What is is the delivery lead time?

Our standard delivery lead time is 5 - 6weeks from sign-off of the drawings.  However, for certain bespoke projects this can vary depending on complexity.  In every case, we will always try to fit in with your project schedule to ensure there are no delays on site.

Can I request a bespoke size?

Yes, everyframe is bespoke. Send the required dimensions, intended use and any drawings so we can discuss a frame suited to your project. The final specification depends on the design and structural requirements.

How much will it cost and how long will it take?

Price and programme depend on the frame, specification and delivery requirements. Send your project details for a quotation and an agreed programme; there is no single figure that applies to every oak frame.
